Trends in mobile flight booking
We use smartphones and tablets every day. We use them both when shopping, but also when organizing holiday trips e.g. booking airline tickets. How Poles use mobile devices for this purpose and what are their preferences? In 2022, the record month for mobile booking of summer flights was April, and the most popular foreign airport was Amsterdam transfer airport.

Among mobile bookings made by Tripsta, the most popular foreign destination in 2022 was Amsterdam. In contrast, Poles booked the most tickets via mobile in 2021 to Zurich. – Amsterdam is a hub with other airports. It’s convenient for transfers for short, continental flights and long, transoceanic trips, m. in. because it’s used by more than 100 carriers from all over the world, says Phillip Brinkmann of online travel agency Tripsta.en. Amsterdam airport is an excellent choice if you decide to travel to another continent, e.g. to the USA, Canada, China or Malaysia, but also during European holiday travels.
It is worth noting that both Amsterdam and Zurich are transfer airports with a dense network of connections.
Cheaply around USA
The ability to book a ticket using a smartphone or tablet promotes catching a bargain. The cheapest ticket booked on mobile cost only PLN 45 and was purchased for a flight from Wroclaw to Warsaw. However, it’s worth noting that mobile bookings are not just about cheap domestic flights. In 2021, the most you paid for a trip was 6300 PLN (Warsaw – New York), and in 2022 the most expensive ticket purchased via smartphone or tablet cost almost 1/3 more (8100 PLN).
