IFTTT – If This Then That, or an easy-to-use application for Android.

IFTTT – If This Then That, which is an easy-to-use app for Android

IFTTT is the name of the application, the development of which is If This Then That. It is used to code individual actions according to the “action – reaction” scheme. With this application, users can combine individual services and activities into specific actions, allowing our smartphone to perform many actions for us, without our knowledge (but with our approval).

Let the Internet work for you

This is the main motto of the app developers. IFTTT is a relatively recent arrival on Android. This is an application that allows you to code various actions, rooted in mobile services.

E.g. if someone tags us in a photo posted on Facebook, the phone can automatically download such photos to Dropbox, share on Twitter photos we like in the Instagram app, save highlighted emails to Evernote, etc.

More than 100 thousand. proposed formulas

The list of formulas (“recipes”) for IFTTT seems endless – on the site (and in the app itself) we can view formulas coded by other users and adapt them to our needs, as well as create completely new commands. You can find the entire database of sample options by installing the application for free on your phone, as well as by logging on to the application’s official website. Examples of practical applications are m.in.:

  • Mute sounds when the phone connects to the company’s WiFi
  • Turn on sounds when you leave the office
  • Share your favorite YouTube videos on Twitter
  • If it’s supposed to rain, get a notification the day before
  • Set the latest photo from Instagram as wallpaper
  • When there is a missed call, automatically send an SMS with the given content
  • Get a weather report every day at a specific time…

…and thousands, in fact hundreds of thousands of other combinations. There are currently 112,030 different formulas coded in the IFTTT database that we can use to make our lives as easy as possible and to make our smartphone really smart.
