A revolution is being prepared for our wrists – Android Wear!
Google today (18.03.2021) unveiled Android Wear, a project to spread Android to wearable devices. The first example of such a product is a promising-looking smart watch, but this is expected to be only the beginning of a!
From a post published on Google's official blog, it appears that the watch (and perhaps other devices from the Android Wear project) will function on a similar basis to the existing smartphone app Google Now. This means that the idea of the device will be to display „the right information at the right time” – As the Google Now slogan goes. That is, for example. We leave the house and the watch shows us how much time we have to start work, what route to take to avoid traffic jams, etc.
The watch will be controllable via a touch interface and buttons, but The most important, however, will be the „Ok Google” command; (analogous to „Ok Glass” for Google Glass). The command will allow us to quickly search the Internet resources, dial numbers, dictate text messages, turn on applications and probably a few more things. The watch will also serve us as an aid to physical activity, thanks to apps that measure speed, distance, etc.
Android Wear is also expected to give us the ability to remotely control multiple devices from our environment. Standard applications are, of course, a smartphone or a TV, but the example presented in the advertising video, is much more spectacular:
