RWD has no clear winner. So how to choose the best? Only by knowing your customer’s needs and behavior well.
Responsive Web Design vs. dedicated mobile website
RWD is a solution whereby we create just one page that displays correctly on both desktop and mobile devices. The website seamlessly adapts to screen size, and the amount of content it contains is most often the same for desktop and mobile. Dedicated mobile website It is, however, a completely separate solution from a desktop site.
It is tailored specifically for mobile devices and contains different content – mostly limited to the minimum that a mobile user may need.
Circumstances determine our behavior – as in life, so in mobile
More than once on the pages of the portal we have written about the advantages of Responsive Web Design. However, it is important to remember that this solution, despite its convenience, modernity and efficiency, is not an ideal solution. Caesar Kolodziej in his article provocatively titled “Is repositive design killing mobile?”, points out that people behave differently, depending on the situation. We behave differently at a corporate event and differently at a house party with friends – we differ in our dress code, freedom of behavior and self-control in terms of the amount of alcohol we drink.
We tailor our actions to the circumstances, and in the same way we should tailor our sites to the circumstances in which our customer uses them.
