   This doesn’t surprise me in the least. To me it speaks of the fact that this is part of who he is (being Muslim)… Interesting that George S felt compelled to correct him..

   I think the jury will still be out on this one until well after the election… if it ever gets resolved. The problem I have with worrying about this too much is: even if it’s true it is not going to change a lot of liberal minds and prevent them from voting for Obama.

   There are loads of really bad stuff out there that gets ignored because this keeps cropping up on blogs and in the MSM when it’s the other stuff that is going to reach out to moderate liberals more than this ever will. Most will look at this in the same way we look at the crap being thrown around about Pa;in, even if it is true.

   Now, don’t take this as a “I don’t believe it” statement. It may well be true. However, in the context of this election it has become a distraction we can ill afford. Let’s concentrate on the things we can prove, like the Public Allies Group, DailyKos, Obama’s ties to radicals, tac hikes galore, and so on.

   I agree with you on this. They really don’t understand religion. Bush was the right man at the right time not because of his religious beliefs themselves, but because of the strength of _his_ religious beliefs, he understands the power of _their_ religious beliefs.
   Liberals think that people who have religious faith are ignorant and therefore are superstitious. They think that if they can just educate you, your religious beliefs will fall away from you like scales from your eyes. You will be enlightened.
   They’re wrong. Educate a muslim, and what you have is an educated - and more dangerous - believer in islam.
   So it doesn’t matter to them. When it comes to religion, they are naifs.

   That was such a screw up on his part. It seems the Palin appointment just kicked off the disintegration of the left, spiritual and physical, get the shields and gloves folks it’s going to get nasty and messy.
