Fred Thompson Stands Alone
Why Fred Would Win The National Contest
And I believe he is one who can, his strategy? Here. Michaelinmi has an excellent explanation of Fred’s strength and conviction, and unlike McCain who seeks democrats lite, Fred is likely to rescue the yellow dogs from the left. This is a conservative country, and the reason GOPers are less satisfied with their candidates is spelled out beautifully here:
I just think that is something that is really getting overlooked in this campaign. Fred Thompson is really running a great campaign message. He is appealing to independents and Democrats, but not with populism or redefining conservatism, but with the belief that the base of America is made up of true conservatives who want conservative government. It is just a shame that people focus so much on his style, instead of his substance. Because his message is one of the best, if not the best, ones out there.

Kathy, Fred Thompson, in comparison to everybody else, is an outstanding candidate. I had heard a rumor that he was on the verge of pulling out. I think he’s the one who could unite everybody. Huckabee is so unpopular that I can’t see him coming anywhere near beating Obama (or Clinton). Let’s hope he keeps in the race.

Aurora, that was a political hit by Politico. Fred has a strong campaign going on in my neighboring state of SC. He had no intention of pulling out, but ’someone’ put the word out that his campaign was ending to supress the vote. Rotten politics. I don’t want to name names, but McCain had the most to gain.

Awesome description!
I just got off the phone with a customer… an old codger who retired from the beltway… smart and funny. He said he likes Fred Thompson but doesn’t think he has a prayer. Of the others, I can’t repeat some of what he said ( I did say he’s an old codger didn’t I?) but he said, Guiliani, McCain, and Huckabee are absolutely worthless, Romney not much better. He had worse to say about Clinton and Obama is a “babe in the woods” to put it politely.
He said the last good president was Reagan. Including both Bushes none of them are worth a &)@#. He also had some tales to tell about Carter that I can’t repeat but were highly entertaining,
If his prediction about Thompson is true, I don’t know what to do next. I honestly don’t.

Yeah, i fear Fred’s fighting a losing battle, he might be all the substance the nation needs, but what do you do when the nation is only looking for style. And the media leading the public towards style and empty politics certainly ain’t helping. In the news out here, Thompson doesn’t even feature, it’s all Obama and Hillary.
