Perhaps the MSM loves conservatives, after all.
What is rocking the blogworld this morning are the upcoming scandals about the CNN/YouTube Republican Debate last night. I have to admit I didn’t watch it precisely because it was CNN/YouTube but apparently I didn’t miss much because the actual news out of it comes from behind the scenes and CNN’s clean up crew must be working overtime for this one.
Michelle Malkin has the goods this morning, along with a few others to which she has linked. ”Democrats, democrats, quite unethical, how does your garden grow? With plants for me and plants for thee that sting and burn.” Not content with plants at their own debates, they now must plant at others’.
I hit the CNN site this morning, just in case I missed something vital (which I didn’t) and found a video with some behind the scenes discussion with undecided “Republicans” who were rating the debate in real time with special meters. It didn’t sit well with me that an older woman stated support for John Edwards but is supposed to be an undecided Republican. She was pointed out by the moderator of that discussion as someone undecided and that’s the answer she gave to questions from the moderator about her choices. Another, also pointed out by the moderator, endorsed Obama, if I recall correctly. After reading the plants story on Michelle Malkin I decided to take a second look at that video which can be found here, that is, if you can connect. After the obligatory ad which you are required to sit through to view the actual video of interest I got this, not once but three times:
The video system was not able to establish connectivity due to a Proxy/Firewall or network connectivity.
Now, I won’t go so far as to say it’s part of the cleanup this morning. I recently went wireless in the home and the router has it’s own firewall built in, as well as the ones we are running on the various systems here. However, it does seem fishy that I could view it earlier this morning with the same system I’m using right now but can’t presently. It could also be a generic message when there are too many connections, as well… so I won’t go so far as to accuse them of plants in the rating/discussion/undecideds room… yet.

It was a sham start to finish. Great post Steph.

Do you think it actually shocks the MSM to find out how closely we are watching not only the political moves being made but them as well? You’d think after the first incident or two, they’d learn to stop doing that, wouldn’t you?

I think they are relying on the fact that the allegation is page one and the retraction is page 41. More people will see the lie than will record the truth.
They are like cancer cells in that way. By occupying space that functional cells occupy and by reproducing at a faster rate they eventually kill the host.
The question is will they kill our freedoms before they destroy themselves? Sadly they are successful at their shams. And there will be more.
Hillary can deny it and say she didn’t know AGAIN - which implies incompetence - do we want someone this out of touch with her campaign to run a country???? Or she can say she did it and admit corruption.
She’ll go with the former and CNN will carry the water. There really is no downside for the media. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Look at Australia.

Well, the video I linked was back so I got that second look at it. The woman who supports Edwards didn’t even get Guiliani’s name right. She added an ‘o’ instead of an ‘i’ at the end, as in Giuliano. The other fellow didn’t support Obama as I thought but he had to be coached on the names of the candidates who he claimed interested him, one of whom was Guiliani, another Huckabee, and the last Hunter.
Kathy, I don’t know. I believe the ‘08 elections are going to contain many surprises. Even left leaning people are getting tired of the dirty politics and the sheer stupidity of the politicians playing them as well as the media. Remember, I used to be one of the silent majority and there are a lot of us previously silent people speaking out this time around.
Like you, and suek, I’m becoming very disappointed in Fred but I still believe he’s the best candidate. He’s just not doing much to convince others.

I could be wrong, but I have come to believe that Huckabee is, in reality, running for Vice President on the ticket with Rudy G. I think that he is the designated candidate to join Rudy G in roughing up Romney and to split off social conservatives that otherwise would go to Romney or Thompson. Notice that Rudy G does not ever rough up Huckabee like he does Romney. Be very careful, cause Huckabee is NOT the fiscal conservative that he professes to be. He is a big government Republican that has no problem with raising taxes and government fees. Also, he is a complete advocate of the George Bush amnesty for illegal aliens.

I think you have a point Caleb. Huckabee should run for the Senate, but I doubt he would carry AR in the presidential.

Republican support in AR went to Thompson, I believe, or it might have been Romney. I’ll have to double check that but I do know it went to somebody who wasn’t named Huckabee. It’s been awhile since I read that in the news sites.
If his record is being reported accurately, I wouldn’t want him in the Senate, either. We have enough of those type there now.
