Heartbroken

Midwest Kay sent this link to me and I hesitate to post it in the lunch hour, however it is a must see… Eat before you watch it -

David Horowitz has released the following video on the treatment of women in Islam. Watch it, and comment if you can. I’m too heartbroken.

This is the enemy we face. CAUTION: Do not view with children in the room.

Hat tip: MK, you’re right, this one must be viewed.

I suppose this is why I’ve become so hard-hearted.

Today, I’ve tried very hard to work up some small smidgeon of sympathy for California and I haven’t been able to. All I can think about is the fact that it’s California; a state which has openly set itself against the rest of the country and they support people like Ahmadinejad, Al Qaeda,Hezbollah, et al. as long as it means defeating the U.S.

I think of Code Pink at the recruiting office in Berkeley. I think of the Folsom Street Fair. I think of Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Danny Glover, and others sucking up to the fascists of this world and can find no sympathy for any of the devastation they are suffering right now.

I’ve tried to think of all the noncelebrities who work for a living but am reminded they voted for this state to be like it is.

And I really hate sounding like Jerry Falwell but, you know, you reap what you sow and this is what California has reaped. Like Katrina in 2004, a catastrophe brought to light the absolute corruption of the state of Louisiana. Perhaps Californians will learn from theirs.

One can always hope for that.

    Thanks, Kathy.

    You tube took it down.

    Interesting?

  3. Stephanie Says:

YouTube does that sort of thing on a consistent basis so I’m not surprised. Fairly quick about it, weren’t they?

I imagine David Horowitz will have it up on one or another of his websites not long after the conference; perhaps all of them. You’ll get a chance to see it. Horowitz is almost fanatical about the subject although one can’t really blame him. However, do what Kathy recommends and eat first. You’ll lose your appetite during.

    Try these-they are somewhat similar.

The original video showed little girls under 12 years of age who were beheaded for “honor killings”. They showed young girls who were or who were going to be circumcised. They showed a woman being stoned. They showed women being beaten in public by the religious police and all sorts of other nauseating things.

For some of the above videos you may have to log in due to the graphic content.

  6. Midwest Kay Says:

PS The video supposedly was taken down because it violated an agreement or something…. So they said anyway.

  7. Stephanie Says:

For those who didn’t get to see the original one Kathy linked there was one thing in there that stood out the most. One of the women said their fear was stronger than their desire for liberty. Sad, sad, sad. I mean, the attrocities were nightmarish to watch but the reasoning behind why nothing is ever really done is most telling.

  8. Stephanie Says:

IP, not to mention that the environmentalists have had their hands in California forever, supported by the same blowhards I listed in my first comment. When people can’t even clear the brush away from their homes without the threat of a lawsuit and knowing the winds are gonna blow just like they have done every year before… Gee, and to think they want the rest of the country to be just like them…

  9. Mark Says:

    Stephanie,

I cannot believe what you said about California. I live in San Diego County. I was born and raised here. While my house appears to be safe for the time being, I know several people who own houses that are close to the fires. These are good Christian people. I know that they voted for President Bush for President and definitely do not agree with the many liberal policies that permeate the state of California. Are you saying they deserve these fires? Even if they weren’t people who meet your standards of behavior and belief, doesn’t the Bible instructs us to have compassion on all people? The clear message from the book of Job is that we don’t always know why bad things happen to people. From our point of view, Job clearly was not deserving of all the calamity that came into his life. So, I don’t think you should be making a judgement on why these fires are ravaging Southern California. Only God knows why these events occur. As a Christian I take no joy in seeing the suffering of other people whose lifestyles and political beliefs I disagree with. I am a conservative Republican who agrees with most of the political beliefs expressed on this blog, but I am really disappointed with your attitude towards those whose political beliefs differ from your own. I think you need take a long hard look at your attitude. I think you need to get beyond your own partisan viewpoint and have compassion on these people who are suffering.

  10. Stephanie Says:

Mark, I said I can’t find it in my heart to have any sympathy for the catastrophe. I never said I took joy in it. I don’t revel in their misfortune but at the same time, one has to wonder how much of it have they brought upon themselves with their crazy policies.

Nor will I be sitting here protesting all the billions of dollars in disaster aid that is going to be heading to California.

No, we don’t know why every calamity befalls people but when environmental policies place you squarely in a position of risk because brush is more important than people’s homes… well, there is such a thing as cause and effect.

But, see, you gave me a reason to have some sympathy. You reminded me that there are people there who don’t agree with the majority of the state, so you did a good thing.

  11. Mark Says:

    Stephanie,

Thanks for replying to my post. I ‘m sorry I implied that you take joy in problems of others. I agree with your opinion about the environmental policies implemented in the state of California are ridiculous. I also agree with cause and effect. Many times people bring trouble on themselves due to poor decisions. However, I don’t think these fires are a direct result of these policies. In this case, I believe it is a combination of very low humidity and very high winds. Once these fires get started the wind spreads them very quickly to other areas. There are a lot open areas in San Diego County where these fires can spread quickly. Also, the area is very dry. We have not had a lot of rain in the past year.

Here’s a video about the Beslan school massacre…..another “fine example” of the so-called religion of peace…

  13. Aurora Says:

I knew about that YouTube video a few days ago and couldn’t bring myself to watch it. To Midwest Kay, the atrocities you mention are heartbreaking, especially since they’re conducted on little girls. What kind of reprobate culture does such horrible things to children? I can’t conceive of it.

I found this link while searching around for info for my sister, who was unable to see the video due to it being taken down:

This is pretty tough stuff to read….

  15. Stephanie Says:

I apologize, too, Mark. It’s not your fault that I feel so little sympathy. I really don’t like that I feel so little of it because it hasn’t always been that way. I posted my feelings hoping that somebody could give me a reason to feel some.

I’m afraid a lot of my sympathy for liberal policies got used up during Katrina as I watched the news coverage and the response there was bizarre at the state and local levels as well as slow on the federal level in Louisiana. When the levees gave, it was discovered that some of the money for the levees was funneled into other projects but the sympathy factor played on and on and on for New Orleans and very little for any other place including the rest of LA that was affected by it.

My father in law lives in Mississippi. His house was damaged by the hurricane as well. He’s still waiting for FEMA. He was told he makes too much money for his flood insurance to fix it… his flood insurance! He’s a Korean War veteran who, with his wife, is living in that moldering house, that’s partially off its foundation, today while gathering up the money to fix it himself at 70 something years old. He will get his house fixed with no help from the government. We’ll see to it.

My mother in law in Alabama was forced to stand in lines out in the broiling AL sun while using a walker and still recuperating from surgery removing cancerous tumors from her colon. She was constantly pushed back in the lines as she was told that others had greater needs while others went through those same lines multiple times using different addresses. She finally gave up because she couldn’t stand in those lines anymore. True, she still had part of a roof over her head and matters took care of the rest for her when the house burnt down not long after that because of electrical wiring issues. Her story turned out well, in the end, because she is living in a retirement home which is better for her because her husband is kinda worthless.

It’s kinda hard to have sympathy for another state after that when you know that at least part of the issue is their own policies. However, I can have sympathy for individuals and I hope everything turns out well for you and your neighbors and that your homes are spared.

It also instructs us not to cast pearls before the swine. If these people choose to live in sodom, a pox on them and all their houses.

Lott chose to live in Sodom and angels came to visit him there…It easy to look down upon people from the safety and sanctuary of your church and secluded homes…but remember one of the things the Pharisees had against Jesus was the company he kept, thieves, crooked tax collectors and prostitutes…David was an adulterer and a murderer but yet he was considered “a man after God’s own heart”…..don’t be too quick to judge our California neighbors and feel they got what they deserve (my mom still lives there and she is a good lady)…that all sounds a little “holier than thou” don’t loose your compassion….Christ never did….

  18. Stephanie Says:

I just had a long post bringing up Lot and lost it. not sure why. Also had more to say about the original topic of this post. if this goes through, I’ll repost what I had to say.

  19. Stephanie Says:

OK, that went through. Must have been a temporary glitch. so, here goes:

Mark is right, IP. Remember Lot coming out of Sodom and Gommorah. We must remember there are good people there mixed in with all the bad.

I also apologized for hijacking the thread and said I did watch the video before it disappeared and I don’t understand how people can continue to support countries such as that spewing anti-American propaganda… the original comment that I lost was a lot longer but that’s the gist of it.

  22. Stephanie Says:

That won’t help, RP. It was a comment on this post that went awry… probably a temporary database glitch because Bruce’s came up at the same time I hit submit. I don’t think it went into moderation but I’ll check just in case. No worries.

I have a post that I’ve been sitting on waiting for the right time to bring it up again and it looks like the right time so I’ll probably post it tomorrow.

IP, yes, Lot did leave Sodom and I know how you feel so I’m not gonna fault you for it. We all have our breaking points I suppose and I hit mine when I watched that video knowing that all the media is focused on the fires in California where there are a bunch of very loud people who think Ajad and his ilk are great people… ugh!

I have kin in California and can’t reach them right now. I know that some of them are not in the path of the fire because their home is near an evac gathering area. Others we can’t reach right now. Don’t know why.

IP, stow the Californication junk. CA is a big place. The libs control the big cities, but out in the rest of the state, it usually goes GOP/conserve or at least very conserve Dem.
