ONLY ONE MARINE LEFT TO BE PROSECUTED IN THE “HADITHA” INCIDENT. ALL OTHERS EXHONERATED.
As you who have read this page and others know, I have been calling for Rep. Murtha (D-Penn.) to resign from office in disgrace after he accused these marines of “cold blooded murder”.
Now it seems that there will be little punishment of any of the Marines, as it should be. This imbroglio was started by a known Iraqi liar and published in Time Magazine as absolute truth. The media was complicit in it’s public prosecution of the Marines and have to be considered co-conspiritors with the hoodlums in Iraq and Congressman Murtha.
The New York Times is positively depressed about the exhoneration of the Marines.
Regardless of what happened to charges against the other defendants, there is still great public pressure on the Marine Corps to investigate and punish any wrongdoing in a case in which so many civilians died.
Fortunately, for the Marines,The UCMJ works, and usually works very well and does not bow to public pressure and we can thank God for that. Obviously, the NYT is dissapointed.

The media is still harping on the “Haditha Massacre”. It is not enough that these young men were subjected to an extreme case of presumption of guilt without a trial. It is not enough that Murtha pronounced the Marines cold blooded murderers …
