BREAKING NEWS: Fred Thompson Giving 2008 Presidential Run “Serious Consideration”
Former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson just told Fox New Sunday’s Chris Wallace that he’s giving a run for the presidency “serious consideration” and will most likely make a decision by this summer.
If Thompson does decide to enter the GOP field, as a mainstream southern conservative, he would instantly become the front runner. As The Politico put it:
Thompson, 64, sees a potential opening in the unsettled field of Republican hopefuls as a no-nonsense, charismatic conservative who would offer reassurance at a time when voters are craving security, according to the friends.
Newton has written brilliantly about this possibility here and here
The current top three GOP contenders: Guiliani, Mccain, and Romney, may have A LOT to worry about.

We will know how much the left fears him by whether or not they start a smear campaign. If they think he could be beatin by hildebeast, they will back off in hopes that he is nominated.

Yep, IP. The media reaction to Thompson will be telling. They probably don’t know what to do yet since there’s no polling data. If he looks good in the polls, watch for the smears to start.

I don’t know - the press will simply vilify his conservative credentials:
Horror of Horrors! Thompson is against Roe v. Wade and gun control!! He’s a former prosecutor who would pick constructionist judges - horrors!!
The MSM thinks that is horrifying. That’s why they never understood how Reagan was elected. Thompson is a Reaganite.

There is very little I disagree with relative to Fred Thompson’s positions. I don’t know that he is another Ronald Reagan, but the Republican party is not behind McCain, Guiliani, and Romney.
I hope he gets in the race. As for smears, nobody, dem or repub, is coming out of a race with Hillary clean. She is an evil and dark force with no moral core. She had to muddy everyone else to be a viable alternative herself.

Finally there are conservative hearing our plea. I really hope it becomes a reality. We need another Reagan-like persona to continue to take this country to the right direction.
Oh the pic of Bill and Hillary is not surprising. Pot heads! Yeah, “I didn’t inhale.” Bill Clinton is so full of it. LOL. Was that Bill’s brother next to him? LOL. There is some serious ugly in that pic. LOL

The Republicans are in desperate need of a true conservative. George W. and H. have betrayed the very same people who elected them into office. Now is the time for someone who has leadership qualities like completing a full sentence. Seriously though, its time for someone like Fred. Hell, he even looks the part already. I don’t know why he is pro-affirmative action. I would like to hear his explanation on why he would support this unfair outdated policy. Go Freddy!!
