Heather Wilson Wins in New Mexico
Thanks to Jim Addison over at Wizbang Politics for the heads up on this article from the Albuquerque Tribune, Whew! Ballot count is over. They are reporting that Republican Heather Wilson has won re-election for her congressional seat in New Mexico by 879 votes over Patricia Madrid. Finalized results should be released tomorrow.
Here’s Jim’s article, New Mexico 1st CD - Wilson wins

RP-you made me smile. I’ve already been sued in this race twice. 1st-the Republicans sued for more early voting sites; I won. Then the Democrats sued over how we were counting provisional ballots; I won. In fact, I’ve been to Court 5 times over the election so far. This is not quite over. We certify the results in the County I represent (not where I live) at 9 am tomorrow morning. However, we do not have enough provisional ballots to change the results. There’s actually a total of 5 counties in this Congressional District. Bernalillo County (where Albuquerque’s located) is the biggest. I’m not sure if they’ve all certified the results yet. The deadline to do so is less clear than the article suggests. I can point out 3 statutes that suggest 3 different deadlines. It could have been Friday, Saturday or tomorrow for the deadline. I wasn’t taking any chances, so I got a Court Order Thursday to give my County until Monday.

Robin Hayes here in NC appears to have pulled it off too.
