Don’t Be A Cut-and-Run Conservative
Rush Limbaugh has gotten quite a bit of attention with his new moniker “Cut-and-run Conservatives.”
In case you who don’t know, a cut-and-run conservative is someone who’s so disgruntled or discouraged with Republicans this year that they’re not going to vote so they can “teach them a lesson.” Yeah, I know it’s stupid. But there are folks who feel this way. And right now they’re the media’s favorite potential non-voters.
For those of you exercising a bit more common sense than that, don’t let polls or the Pinocchio Press, dissuade you. Vote REPUBLICAN this election cycle. It’s time we teach these overly jubilant libs a lesson they won’t soon forget.
For those who may be or are considering being cut-and-run conservatives, answer this question for me. How does your strategy of NOT voting or (gulp!) voting for a Democrat advance any issue you care about? Iraq, the War on Terror, tax cuts, spending, immigration. How does losing help with any of these issues?
You know what happens when you throw the baby out with the bath water? You lose the thing that was most precious to you.
Don’t be a cut-and-run conservative this November. The stakes are too high.

Another great post, Falcon! I can’t figure out the cut and run conservative position either. Do they really believe it strengthens their position NOT to vote?
In every aspect of life, from school, to work, to parenting, to friendships, to marriage, constancy and reliability are valued.
You are true to you beliefs and true to your word - and that in turn has its own rewards. When people can count on you, they listen to your concerns, and value your opinion.
Unreliable people are ignored.
This petulance does not deliver what they expect - a rebuff - instead it futhers the opposite and drives the party to the moderates for votes.
When conservatives stay home the party moves left - simple survival.
Meanwhile, people who declare their patriotism, punish their country for spite.
What makes them any different from the NYT publishing secrets to punish GWB?

Great post, great comment (Kathy).
Watch the headlines for the next week. I can’t believe (well, actually I can) how the MSM is trying to convince us it’s all doom and gloom for the GOP. They are hoping we won’t vote. GOP is already mobilizing the 72 hour campaign. The Dems and MSM will be whining on Nov. 8.

We have to put up with the Rino’s. 2008 will be the time to purge the Rino’s during primaries.

Enough Rs - even rinos allows us to chair committees. There is power in the R, even if it’s followed with an INO.
