North Korea — A Failure of Multinational Discussion???
Not sure if anyone has noticed this headline or not, but here goes. China inspects North Korean cargo
Here’s a link to a transcript of John Kerry’s discussion with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday yesterday, Transcript: Senator John Kerry on ‘FOX News Sunday’.
Some highlights:
WALLACE: Let’s talk about North Korea.
KERRY: Well, this is about North Korea, because the problem with Iraq is that it has diminished our hand and reduced our ability to be able to deal with Iran and North Korea. They are related.
One of the reasons that North Korea can misbehave the way it is today is because the United States has lost its leverage, lost its credibility and doesn’t have the capacity to be able to bring countries together in the way that it used to. That’s number one.
Number two, with respect to North Korea itself, you hit it on the head. This administration is tolerating. This administration is doing exactly what it said it wouldn’t do, which is allowing North Korea to get away with what it’s doing.
These sanctions are not the bold, tough sanctions that the secretary talked about. China walked out of there and said we voted for it, but we’re not going to enforce the cross-border mechanism, it’s too dangerous for our region.
So you have sanctions that are just, by statement of those involved, not going to do the job.
WALLACE: So what would you do differently to deal with this very erratic regime of North Korea?
KERRY: I would do precisely — I would do precisely what I said for the last five years consistently, which is engage in bilateral, face-to-face negotiations with North Korea, make it absolutely clear to North Korea that we are not intending to invade and have a regime change, and work on the entire set of issues that are outstanding since the armistice with regard to the north.
John Kerry, the man who wants to be king president. Wrong then, wrong now. Sore loser. The gift that keeps on giving.

Uh-huh. I love these idiot Senators who act like they’re totally powerless. How long has this dolt been in the Senate? And how many pieces of legislation has he proposed dealing with North Korea? How many speeches? What’s his real plan other than talking?
And just how would face-to-face TALKS with the Norks do anything?

Kerry is a legend among himself!!

Negotiate with the wolf that wants to rip your throat out. Why didn’t I think of that?
My God, where does stupidity like this come from?
How can you be in your mid sixties and have the world view of a UC Berkley sophomore?
Dear God, save us from this crowd of imbeciles!

Thank you, God, for making my political enemy so stupid!!

MFG. Those hippies of the 60’s are still traitors. They are the same people, but instead of growing up, they have grown up through their hair and are growing out. They have not matured.

Republicanpundit - what would happen if you gave Kerry a buzz cut?

Kerry is a total idiot.
If we were engaging in bilateral talks with North Korea, he would say we should be engaging in multiparty talks.
China is the only country with a lot of influence with North Korea, being their main patron and supplier, to leave them out would be absurd.
October 16th, 2006 at 2:28 pm
FeralCat - exactly. And why the Sam Hill would we leave SOUTH Korea out too? And Japan as well? If I remember correctly, Bush nailed Kerry on this in one of the debates. He wanted bi-lateral talks with North Korea, but he wanted multi-lateral blah blah with Iraq.
Do these Dims think we don’t pay attention? Or do they not care? Do they not care that their own supporters don’t care what they say, as long as they attack Bush and the GOP?
Would that we had an honest media…
October 16th, 2006 at 2:38 pm
If we had an honest media, abortion would be illegal except in extreme circumstances, there would be nine Judges on the Supreme Court who actually understood the constitution, we would be enjoying a Republican supermajority, every American everywhere would be free to express their religious beliefs as they so choose, impoverished inner city black neighborhoods would no longer be dependent on the Democrat’s socialist teat and would be prospering, and 1/4 of America (the ‘retards’, to quote South Park) would not believe 9/11 was orchestrated by George W. Bush.
What a world that would be.

The story on inspecting North Korea’s cargo was interesting and important, but I found it even more telling that China has erected a border fence between China and North Korea. That appears to substantiate the fear that China will be flooded by North Korean refugees. Why this step by China and why now? Could it be that China is also anticipating that North Korea is a threat to them also? If so, is the threat to China more than a flood of refugees? China’s action indicates something deeper than a flow of refugees since that’s been the case for years.
