Calls for a Presidential Pardon of Scooter Libby
Yesterday on the panel discussion on Fox, I heard Fred Barnes suggest that President Bush should pardon Scooter Libby and end the Plamegate affair. Today’s New York Post is advocating the same thing in this article, JUSTICE FOR SCOOTER LIBBY.
I doubt the President reads this blog and I’m sure the “evil genius”, Karl Rove, has already thought of my point. But please, Mr. President, wait till after the election to do it. Democrats will make such an issue of it as they have of so many other hollow events and use it during the campaign. We don’t need the distraction right now, we must keep the focus on national security because at the end of the day, without it, we will have none of the liberties we enjoy, the entitlements programs the Democrats want and support, the thriving economy that provides us with jobs and makes us prosperous.

COgirl. I think it is the perfect time to pardon him. It will expose this whole thing as a big lie and the democrats cannot defend any of their actions. The Dims have not only been treacherous during this affair, they have been traitorous.
Linked to you article last night on this subject.

COgirl and Republicanpundit…
I think a Presidential Pardon is in order…
But, ONLY…when followed-up by a Congressional Investigation into Joe Wilson…his lies…Val’s involvement…
…and the Democrats for “Aiding and Abetting”…

I agree with COgirl. This issue can wait until after the election. Then, as Sir Randall said, the Congress can investigate Wilson, Plame, and Richard Armitage, exposing what a GIGANTIC lie this whole thing has been.
Great post COgirl and well said.

Don’t Pardon Libby
Scooter Libby hasn’t even been tried yet, let alone convicted.
There can be no “pre-emptive” pardons. That would only indicate that guilt is presumed (which we know is the position of some).

The New York Times on Richard Armitage Take 2
Why was there an investigation? Even before Patrick Fitzgerald took up his role as a Special Prosecutor in this matter Armitage identity was apparently known… Both of these accounts idicate a willingness to (basically) lie, in order to preserve po…

with Musing Minds. Let the judicial process take it’s course, Libby will probably be exonerated anyway, but if not, the day after he is found guilty, then the President should pardon him. It’s after the election, and what on earth does the president have to lose? I can see the fury of the msm already. Delightful!

Sorry, the first two words should say “I agree”, somehow they didn’t come through.
